Restore Strength and Protect Your Smile

A dental crown is a custom-made restoration designed to cover and protect a tooth that has been weakened, damaged or significantly worn. Crowns can help restore the shape, strength and function of a tooth while also improving its appearance. At Oak Dental Place, we use crowns as part of a personalized restorative approach focused on preserving your natural teeth whenever possible.

Natural-Looking Protection for Damaged Teeth

Modern dental crowns are designed to blend naturally with your surrounding teeth while providing added strength and stability. They can be used to restore teeth that may no longer be strong enough to support a filling or to improve the appearance of a tooth that is misshapen, discoloured or heavily restored. Your crown is carefully planned to complement your bite, tooth shape and smile. Our goal is to create a restoration that feels comfortable, functions naturally and provides lasting protection.

What to Expect With a Dental Crown

Dental crown treatment typically begins with an examination of the affected tooth and, when needed, dental X-rays to assess the surrounding structure. The tooth is then carefully prepared so the crown can fit securely over it.

An impression or digital scan is taken to create your custom restoration. Depending on the treatment process, a temporary crown may be placed while your final crown is being made. Once complete, the permanent crown is checked for fit, appearance and bite before being securely attached.
